My name is Hattie Hilburn, I am a wife, mother, friend, teacher and student.

 

I received my bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies ESL EC - 6, from The University of North Texas in May of 2014. I also have all of my GT hours, which I keep update each year. I received my master’s degree in child life from Texas Woman’s University in December of 2019.

I have been at Mary Jo Sheppard since 2016, 1 spent 3 years in 1st grade and this is my 2nd in 4th grade. For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about working with children, especially those that tend to be misunderstood. I have over 6 years of experience working with children in schools. I have taught first and fourth grade, as well as been a sponsor for various clubs and a volunteer at Cook Children's Hospital.

 

Since I completed my master’s degree it is my hope to continue in the education, aiding my students and their families. I have recently started the principal program at Region 11 as well as the doctoral program in Family Studies. at TWU.
